THE PURE PENDULUM GRIP: EASY AS 1-2-3

• 1.Place your thumbs side by side on top of the grip above the Pure Pendulum logo.
• 2. Extend your index and middle fingers down the sides of the grip. (Make sure the fingers are touching, with no space between.)
• 3. Touch the tips of the middle fingers (under the grip) and interlock the ring and little fingers as feels most comfortable.

The One Finger Option

Extend only the index fingers down the side and interlock (or overlap) the other fingers underneath the grip.

Pure Pendulum Grip Tips

• Make sure you place the putter grip up the middle of the palm. This creates a solid feel and eliminates wrist breakdown.
• Check to make sure your thumbs are even and beside one another at address. This ensures your shoulders are level and you are in perfect balance to make the putt.

THE PURE PENDULUM SET UP: BALANCED & RELAXED

• 1. With weight evenly distributed, position your body so that the putter head is behind the ball and putter shaft is vertical.
• 2. Your eyes should be directly above the ball. Make sure the eyes are above - not too far over the ball.
• 3. Check that your feet, hips and shoulders are parallel to the intended path of the putt. The alignment of the shoulders is critical, since the putter head will automatically follow their line.
• 4. Keep everything firm but relaxed, particularly your hands, wrists and arms.

Make sure your shoulders are aligned parallel to the target line. Your arms follow your shoulder line: if your shoulders are on line, your arms, hands and putter head MUST follow.

PURE PENDULUM STROKE: FUNDAMENTALS AT WORK

• Although revolutionary in concept, the Pure Pendulum System stroke includes the fundamental principles of putting:
• Align yourself with shoulders parallel to the line of the putt
• Assume a solid, well balanced putting stance
• Use a one-piece takeaway with no wrist break
• Keep your head still throughout the stroke

Your Takeaway: A One Piece Triangle

• 1. Keeping legs, upper body and head quiet, take the putter back in a relaxed, one-piece motion with the shoulders. Form a triangle with the shoulders, arms and hands and maintain this start to finish. Also maintain wrist angle throughout the stroke.
• 2. No need to consciously take the putter back in a straight line. In fact, resist the temptation to control or manipulate the putter in any way. Proper alignment, combined with a one-piece, tension-free takeaway will ensure that the putter head follows the correct line on the takeaway.
• 3. Take the putter back as far as conditions require. The slower the green and farther the hole, the longer the takeaway.

   

  Your Through Stroke: Just Let It Go

  At the end of the takeaway, simply release the club, let it go. Resist the temptation to manipulate or guide the putter to the ball in any way. Just let the putter head be carried through the ball by its own momentum. You’ll be amazed by the results.

  Take the putter back more than usual on long putts. The further back you take the putter, the more energy will be imparted to the ball by the laws of physics, without conscious acceleration or manipulation.

  Ordering

  Pure 1 Putters come in right and left hand models and in lengths of 31 to 35 inches. We normally stock 31, 32 and 33. The 34 and 35 are special orders (no extra charge). Customers should order lengths 1 to 2 inches shorter than their normal length. This is because the Pure Pendulum method teaches that you grip the putter grip up the middle of the palm, not across the fingers (as conventional methods).The putter is also more vertical (78 degrees vs normal 74). All this brings the hands closer to the ball and makes for a shorter putter shaft. Please contact us if you have any questions.
